The source hierarchy and published first-party references behind institution-specific calculator profiles.

Source hierarchy

Registrar, examination-board, admissions-service, government and university policy pages are preferred. Current regulations and official worked examples outrank third-party explanations. Competitor sites are useful for understanding interface expectations and student vocabulary, but not for proving an academic formula.

What a profile records

A production profile identifies the publisher, education system, programme or scheme where relevant, scale, formula, boundaries, caps, exclusions, effective version and review status. This prevents a familiar formula from being applied beyond its documented scope.

When no universal formula exists

International grade conversion, GPA equivalence, WAM-to-GPA estimates and many university classifications depend on the receiving institution. Those pages provide editable or banded planning estimates and say explicitly that the destination organisation controls the official evaluation.

Source updates

If an official source has moved or a rule has changed, email darth9081@gmail.com with the page URL and replacement first-party reference. The affected profile can then be retested before its status or formula is updated.
