About these calculators
How NSC marks, matric averages and APS are handled in South Africa
NSC results are reported as subject percentages and achievement levels. A matric average uses selected subject percentages, while an Admission Point Score converts qualifying subjects through a university-specific points table. These are separate calculations and should not share one hidden profile.
Universities and programmes decide how many subjects count, whether Life Orientation is excluded, minimum subject marks and the APS band mapping. University academic averages may also be credit-weighted percentages. Always select the admission profile for the exact institution and programme.
How South Africa calculations are handled
Enter the grades and academic units printed on your record. My Grade Finder keeps the grade-point scale, credit weighting and intermediate totals visible instead of treating the result as a universal official record.
Check the institution profile
Grade boundaries, repeated-course treatment, exclusions and rounding can vary by institution and programme. Use the calculator for planning, then compare it with the current official handbook.
